Florida Gulf Coast University is a public regional comprehensive institution of higher education that prepares students for gainful employment and successful lives as productive and civically engaged citizens with prosperous careers. FGCU is dedicated to providing the highest quality education that focuses on all aspects of a student’s development for success in life and work, as well as creating a positive economic impact on the region.
With its continued pursuit of excellence, FGCU relies on strong support from the state legislature. To keep FGCU at that forefront, Eagle Advocacy was founded in 2012.
Eagle Advocacy brings together alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends of FGCU to ensure the university receives the resources necessary to continue to provide innovative and student-centered education in SWFL. Eagle Advocates seek to strengthen support for FGCU and public higher education by linking the campus to elected officials and expanding awareness of FGCU in Tallahassee, FL.
Because term limits bring new elected officials to Tallahassee every other session, educating legislators regarding the impact of their funding and policy decisions on FGCU’s future is more important than ever!
Eagle Advocacy trains its advocates to speak to elected officials about the importance of state support for public higher education.
